Pick up & Drop off at Hakodate Port

1.Hakodate Morning Market –

Dive into a deeply energetic market. Experience the highly entertaining "Squid Fishing" activity and eat a stunningly fresh seafood rice bowl for lunch.

2.Goryokaku Tower & Fort –

Ride the elevator up the observation tower. Look directly down at Goryokaku, a massive star-shaped Western-style citadel, and learn the dramatic history of the Boshin War and the Last Samurai.

3.Motomachi District –

Wander the steep, highly picturesque slopes perfectly overlooking the bay. The area uniquely blends Japanese aesthetics with historic Russian and Western churches.

4.Mt. Hakodate Observatory –

Take in the breathtaking panorama of the hourglass-shaped city perfectly squeezed between two seas. While the ropeway is a classic choice, if it is unavailable due to its annual maintenance period (October 20th to November 8th) or bad weather, your private taxi can drive you directly to the summit instead! (Ropeway fare: 1,800 yen round-trip per adult).

Lunch spots in the city center get extremely crowded, so it is highly recommended to decide on a restaurant in advance. While there are specialty sea urchin (Uni) restaurants, there are no crab specialty restaurants; crab is best enjoyed at local izakaya-style pubs open for lunch. Additionally, this itinerary features ultimate flexibility for Mt. Hakodate—if the ropeway is closed, your private vehicle will smoothly cruise straight up the mountain road.
